EY donated £5,000 to Calpe House Charitable Trust last month in support of its initiative to refurbish three new properties bought in London for local patients.

A number of events held last year undertaken by staff contributed towards the funds which were presented to Albert Poggio and Charles Marfe of Calpe House by EY Managing Partner, Jose Julio Pisharello.

“This substantial donation toward the completion of our restoration project will make a tangible and immediate impact,” said Mr Poggio. “Our profile has raised significantly since we began 25 years ago and the need for accommodation in London from Gibraltarians has grown with it. We are immensely grateful for the efforts of all those who took part in the staff events of 2016, the generosity of EY and the many people who supported them. Their kindness will make a real difference for those seeking that accommodation in London, often at challenging times in their lives.”

Mr Pisharello took part in the Three Peaks Challenge, one of the sponsored events, and said that it tested everyone’s reslolve to work as a team.

“It is especially rewarding to see the results of that effort, amongst all the other fundraising, and to know how it will benefit our community. To be able to support the work of Calpe House is further inspiration for us to identify the EY challenges for 2017’,” he said.
